Write a Letter of Support to Armenian Prisoners Held in Azerbaijan

Ruben Vardanyan has asked all those who support him to make a special effort in the coming weeks and write letters to all Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan.

His appeal extends far beyond his own case. Today, 19 Armenian detainees remain in Azerbaijani prisons. Among them are former political leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh, prisoners of war, and civilians. Many have spent years in detention without seeing their families, receiving letters, or maintaining regular contact with their loved ones.

As part of the humanitarian initiative announced by Veronika Zonabend, an international women’s humanitarian delegation intends to seek the opportunity to visit Baku. One of the mission’s principal objectives is to deliver letters of support collected from around the world to the Armenian detainees.

The more letters we collect, the stronger the humanitarian message this initiative will carry. Every letter reminds those in detention that they have not been forgotten, while also demonstrating to all those involved that the international community continues to care about their fate and expects their fundamental human dignity to be respected.

Our goal is to collect letters for every Armenian prisoner currently held in Azerbaijan. It would be deeply meaningful if each of the 19 detainees received letters of support from people around the world.

To ensure that all letters can be collected and prepared for delivery as part of this humanitarian initiative, we kindly ask you not to send them directly. Instead, please use one of the following options.

If you are in Armenia

You may bring your letter to our collection point:

Baghramyan 6, Yerevan

Letters may be written in any language.

At the collection point you will be able to submit your letter and place everything in a pre-addressed envelope prepared for the humanitarian initiative.

Please make sure that the envelope clearly indicates:

  • the full name of the prisoner to whom your letter is addressed;
  • your full name as the sender.

If you are outside Armenia

Please send your letter electronically to:

letters@freearmenianprisoners.com

Letters may be written in any language.

Please include the full name of the prisoner in the subject line of your email.

Our team will print your letter, prepare the mandatory cover form, place everything in the appropriate envelope, and include it in the humanitarian initiative.

Please also remember to sign your letter with your full name before sending it.
