Armenian National Committee Publishes Dossier on 20 Armenian Hostages Held in Azerbaijan

On October 30, 2026, the Armenian National Committee – International announced the publication of a new dossier, “Armenian Hostages in Azerbaijan: Prisoners of War, Civilians and Political Prisoners,” dated October 29, 2026.

The dossier documents the situation of 20 Armenians still held in Azerbaijan more than three years after the forced displacement of Artsakh’s Armenian population. It provides individual profiles of the detainees, including former political and military leaders of Artsakh, civilians, and prisoners of war, and examines concerns surrounding their trials, detention conditions, access to independent humanitarian monitoring, and ongoing international legal proceedings.

The Armenian National Committee calls for their immediate and unconditional release, without exchanges or political concessions. Pending their release, it urges the international community to ensure independent humanitarian access, family and legal contact, and compliance with international human rights obligations.
