All Armenians Held in Azerbaijan Must be Immediately Released – RA Ombudsperson

All Armenians held in Azerbaijan must be immediately released, Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan stated during a program on Public Radio.

She noted that she regularly raises this issue on her own initiative — without external appeals – and intends to continue doing so, using both public and non-public mechanisms.

The Ombudsperson also commented on calls to intensify efforts regarding Armenian detainees and to organize a visit to former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, who was sentenced in Baku to 20 years in prison. She emphasized that the objectives of such initiatives must be clearly defined, reiterating that conducting monitoring on the territory of another state is not possible.
